The hardworking taxpayers in our local communities are the strength of our country, not the bureaucrats or politicians in Washington DC. I believe less power in Washington DC and more power in the hands of individuals, families, businesses, non-profit organizations, and local communities will build a healthy economy and stronger Michigan. My commitment as your representative is to listen to and learn from you, because together we can find solutions to encourage job creation, foster opportunity, promote freedom, and defend our values.
We each have our story. I worked in a steel mill to help pay my way through college, was blessed to marry Sue and together we raised our three children, served as a pastor, represented my community in the State House, worked in the private sector, and am grateful for the opportunity to try to build a brighter future as your representative in the U.S. House.
I believe our goal should be for each American to have the opportunity to use their talents to support their family, pursue their dreams, and be a blessing in their community. We will move toward that goal by putting our trust in the people, not Washington DC.
