Fmr. Lt. Gov. Dick Posthumus Endorsement

Former Lt. Gov. Dick Posthumus Endorses

Tim Walberg

Tipton, MI
- Dick Posthumus, who served Michigan as Lt. Governor and Senate Majority Leader, and currently serves in the private sector as a business leader, issued the following statement endorsing Tim Walberg’s candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Dick Posthumus said:

"Tim Walberg is a proven, principled conservative and we need him back in Congress to work for Michigan families and businesses.  He strongly pushed for tax relief and reforms that helped turn Michigan's economy around in the 1990s and his principled leadership is desperately needed in the U.S. House.  Tim is the only candidate in this race with a proven track record of fighting for economic growth and encouraging job creation.  I strongly endorse Tim's candidacy and urge all conservatives, independents, and Reagan Democrats to unite behind his campaign so we can win in November."

Tim Walberg made the following statement:

“Dick Posthumus’ leadership and policy agenda were instrumental in Michigan’s turnaround in the 1990s.  He understands that empowering citizens and businesses, not government, generates economic growth and job creation.  We need more leaders in Michigan and Washington D.C. who emulate Dick Posthumus’ integrity and firm commitment to expanding economic opportunities for citizens.  I am grateful for his continuous service to Michigan and honored to receive his support.”

Dick Posthumus served as Lieutenant Governor from 1998 to 2002 with Governor John Engler, and State Senator from 1983 to 1998, including becoming the longest serving Senate Majority Leader.  He currently serves as President and CEO of Compatico, a manufacturer and distributor of office furniture parts and systems.
