WTVB: Walberg gets Trump endorsement in his bid for re-election

JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – Branch County’s representative in Congress Tim Walberg has gotten the endorsement of former President Donald Trump.

Walberg is running for re-election in the newly created Fifth Congressional District.

He is being opposed in the August 2 G.O.P. Primary by Sherry O’Donnell and Bryan Trouten. Trouten is running as a write-in candidate.

In a statement released from Walberg’s campaign, Trump said, “Tim is fighting to Secure the Border, Hold Big Tech Accountable, and Restore American Energy Independence. He is working hard to Deliver Education Solutions for our Children, Support our Military and Veterans, Defend the under siege Second Amendment, and Stop the Trafficking of Opioids into our Communities. Tim is a strong Crime Fighter who adores our Police.”

The winner of the Republican primary will face Democrat Bart Goldberg in the November General Election.
